Centrally located near 4 ski resorts, snowmobile trail 2, Black River Harbor, Copper Peak, the Ottawa National Forest, Lake Superior, Lake Gogebic and the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Bessemer was founded on the success of iron ore mining in the 1800's and is now the county seat of Gogebic County.

The Bluffs Inn offers all nonsmoking rooms, free wireless internet, free parking, in-room coffee, air conditioning and cable tv.
